Text Box: This project comprised the construction of a detached Annexe building within the grounds of the existing Cotmaton House residential home providing accommodation for 5 local elderly couples.

In scale with the main house, of sufficient size to stand-alone but subservient to its neighbour, the new single storey Annexe building uses slate roofing with rendered masonry walls compatible with the main house. It is set perpendicular to the main house extending along one side of the main garden creating an enclosure with its lounges facing East across the house lawn. The combination is designed to be harmonious with good proportions and creating a sense of enclosure.

Detailing is simple and traditional to provide easy maintenance, a comfortable feeling, modern yet compatible with its established surroundings. Spaces are light but retain privacy while joined with communal access to joint facilities, all under cover and on one level.
